Beliefs and superstitions about enchantments run through our entire history, from the Dacians to the present day. We, humans, we always have had a desire to have fantastic powers and tip the balance with a little act of magic.
For the Romanian people, nature’s cures, enchantments and charms played an important role. Through magic, man connects with the natural elements, with the cosmos (God), with the animals, with the earth, with the air, the water and the sun, with the help of the word. Our great-grandfathers were connected to the Earth (through their works) without being aware of it.
Old women who do plant spells actually rearrange these layers of subtle bodies (subatoms) at the energetic level through the word, shifting the focus from evil to good.
The charm against the evil eye: folks say that the evil eye is a “theft” of energy, caused by an envious, admiring or praising look.
Enchanters, unlike witches, fought against the evil caused, having the divine support of the Mother of God.
